At its inaugural event in June 2019, Athens Photo World will award a 5,000 \u20ac cash prize to an ongoing or complete project of reportage or documentary photography, created between January 2018 and April 2019.<\/p>\n

The awarded photographic project will be exhibited at the next Athens Photo World (2020) exhibition at an individual exhibition of the photographer.<\/p>\n

Those wishing to participate should send a portfolio of twelve (12) photos and the supporting text\/story (200-250 words) to ‘Submit your work’ form until the 20th<\/sup> of May 2019 at noon.<\/p>\n

Jury members will receive the submitted works, without any info regarding the entrants\u2019 idendity, directly from the\u00a0webhosting company. All metadata\u00a0will have been removed from the digital files. The jury will meet and decide on the 25th and the 26th of May 2019.<\/p>\n

A new judging committee will be appointed every year. For 2019 the committee consists of:<\/p>\n

President: Aristotelis Sarrikostas, the first Greek photojournalist of the Associated Press agency from 1964 to 1996<\/p>\n

Nikandre Koukoulioti, advertising and corporate special project manager, Magnum Photos Paris<\/p>\n

Penelope Petsini, Historian of Photography, Professor at the Department of Political Science and History of Panteion University<\/p>\n

Eirini Vourloumis, Photographer, contributor at the New York Times<\/p>\n

Thanassis Stavrakis, Photographer, Head of the Photographic Department of the Associated Press Agency for Greece, Cyprus, Albania and North Macedonia<\/p>\n

Entry rules:<\/h3><\/div>[\/vc_column_inner][\/vc_row_inner]
<\/div><\/div><\/div>[vc_column_text]1. Participation in the competition is free of charge.
\n2. Participants must be professional photographers living and working in Greece or Cyprus.
\n3. The photographic project submitted for evaluation must have been carried out between January 2018 and April 2019.
\n4. The photographic project submitted for evaluation should to be classified as a \u00abreportage\u00bb or \u00abdocumentary\u00bb.
\n5. Files are to be sent at 72dpi and 2000pixels on the large side\u00a0with captions, written in Greek or in English, in the file info field.
\n6. Participants must also send an accompanying text\/story, not exceeding 250 words.
\n7. The photographs must not have been subject to alterations or digital manipulation other than cropping and basic exposure, contrast and luminance correction.
\n8. Submissions should be sent in a folder (.zip) with the photographer\u2019s name and each file named with the photographer\u2019s name and the file number e.g.
\nGiorgos_Papadopoulos_01.jpeg.
\n9. The finalists selected for the final round of judging will be required to produce the RAW image files as delivered by the camera.
\n10. The nominated winner will be required to produce the uploaded images with the original pixel size (unless cropped) in 300 dpi.
\n11. The winner will be required to produce evidence (identity or documents) of
\nprofessional engagement in Greece or Cyprus.
\n12. Participants must guarantee that they are the authors and copyright owners of the submitted photos.
\n13. The participants give to the organisers of Athens Photo World the right to use one of their photographs for the promotion of the competition (website, media and social media) both during the current event and in future ones.
\n14. The photos submitted to the contest remain the intellectual property of their
\ncreators.
