Athens Photo World Award<\/h3><\/div>[\/vc_column][\/vc_row][vc_row equal_height=”yes” content_placement=”middle” css=”.vc_custom_1553177368838{padding-top: 60px !important;padding-bottom: 30px !important;background-position: center !important;background-repeat: no-repeat !important;background-size: cover !important;}”][vc_column col_padding=”2″ col_padding_side=”right” css=”.vc_custom_1494861025506{padding-top: 0px !important;}”][vc_column_text css_animation=”fadeInUp” css=”.vc_custom_1588675089402{margin-bottom: 25px !important;}”]Athens Photo World (APW) aims at promoting the work of photographers and photojournalists, familiarizing the public with contemporary photojournalism and highlighting photojournalism\u2019s contribution to recording history as it is written, in an effort to encourage photojournalists from around the world and support their commitment to their work and vision.<\/p>\n

As part of its mission, APW \u00a0is organising the annual Photojournalism Award for professional photographers living and working in Greece and\/or Cyprus. Now in its second year, APW is implemented with the lead support of the Stavros Niarchos Foundation (SNF).<\/p>\n

APW will award a 5,000\u20ac cash prize to an ongoing or complete photojournalism or documentary photography project, created between January 2018 and July 2020. The winning project will be presented at next year\u2019s APW festival with an individual exhibition of the photographer.<\/p>\n

A new jury is appointed every year. For 2020, the panel consists of photojournalist Louisa Gouliamaki and photographers Yannis Kontos and Pavlos Fysakis.<\/p>\n

Those interested are invited to submit a portfolio of twelve (12) photographs, along with an explanatory text and a brief resume.<\/p>\n

Submission are already open at\u00a0https:\/\/contests.picter.com\/athens-photo-world-award-2020<\/a><\/p>\n

Submissions deadline: July 20, 2020, 23:59 GMT+3<\/p>\n

The winner of this year\u2019s award will be announced at a special event at SNFCC (TBA).<\/p>\n
